Apprenticeships bridge the link between school and work

With much economic uncertainty today plaguing the job market, apprenticeship school programs are increasingly becoming the link between educators, students, and their future employers. Apprenticeship schools and apprenticeship grants are a proven bridge and safety net from the classroom to the workplace, helping reduce firms’ financial risks of hiring new employees while helping young graduates transition into a career with greater ease. Traditionally associated with trade professions, apprenticeship schools are increasingly becoming the norm for many sectors, including business. The combination of theory and employment with academic supervision allows students the opportunity to practically apply what they learn with structured guidance. Lasting from a few months to more than a year, students are paid minimum wage to cover tuition fees and living expenses, while the firm is given tax credits and financial incentives to hire apprentices.
