Information monitoring services
To stay informed about an industry or a research topic, it is necessary to identify and systematically monitor good information sources. To do so, given the large number of sources and frequency of their updates, it is essential to structure and optimize the collection of this information and to use automated reporting methods (such as RSS feeds and alerts). Information watch is the set of strategies in place to enable the active and controlled monitoring of predetermined information sources.
The ILC offers faculty members and staff personalized support for the implementation of information monitoring strategies. Appointments allow you to analyse your requirements in order to accurately define the scope of the information monitoring and thus putthe best adapted process in place.
The support includes :
- assistance with source identification and selection (sourcing)
- training in information monitoring tools (use of RSS feeds, setting up alert systems)
- training in tools (content aggregators, RSS readers, Netvibes, Google Reader)
